Well, contrary to popular belief...there IS such a thing as healthy coffee and I will explain why.
The use of coffee and the benefits derived have gone through a metamorphoses of beliefs. First, it was considered good only as a commercial beverage, then good for weight loss if consumed "black" without milk or sugar, to being bad for our health and disastrous for people with heart disease and high blood pressure.
Now recent findings have placed the emphasis back on coffee as a healthy drink as it was found to increase memory and energy, speed relief of migraines when taken with migraine medication, reduce blood pressure, decrease blood sugar levels in diabetic patients and prolong the life of those suffering with heart disease. This is largely due to the many anti-oxidants said to be in coffee.
Scott K. Aberegg, M.D., M.P.H. Pioneer Valley Hospital, Salt Lake City, UT posted his findings in the New England Journal Of Medicine, stating: "...There is evidence of a protective effect for hepatocellular and endometrial cancer and possibly breast cancer. Other studies have shown some evidence of protection from colorectal cancer..." - more studies need to be conducted for conclusive evidence.
Many of these reported studies still link coffee to mortality, but believe it could be as a result of other actions combined, e.g. smoking.
Another wave of healthy coffee has become popular due to the addition of a rare mushroom added to the blend. The mushroom, known as "Reishi" or "Ganoderma" has been linked to many good deeds in our bodies, including repairing of the pancreas - the organ responsible for regulating insulin output.
Coffee was the perfect supporter since the mushroom by itself is extremely bitter and very difficult to chew. Ground in coffee, it is easier to consume and the bitterness is masked with the bitterness associated with the coffee itself.

Recently, the most healthy of coffees was launched and is only available, exclusively, through direct selling by independent distributors of SoZo Global.
Termed "The Coffee That Loves You Back" SoZo's coffee is not only considered one of the richest and smoothest gourmet blends - without the bitterness - but also considered the healthiest in the world. One cup is equivalent to one cup of blueberries.
This is due to a patented, secret technology (developed by Scientists at Futureceuticals) of stabilizing the nutrients of the whole coffee fruit (referred to as "CoffeeBerry") and blending it with the Grounds made from 100% Arabica Bean roast. The nutrients found in the coffee fruit were measured and tested by Brunswick Labs and resulted in the highest ORAC ever recorded - 625 times more than Blueberries and even higher than Acai.
"CoffeeBerry" has also been proven to be the only whole fruit to significantly modulate an extremely important protein in the brain (BDNF) which is responsible for the processes of memory, learning, mood, metabolism and weight control.
No other food or vegetable has been discovered to statistically increase BDNF (Brain-Derived Neurothropic Factor). Among those tested were: caffeine, green coffee bean extract, chlorogenic acid and grape seed extract. (See details here)
So, in answer to the title question posed above, the answer is a huge "YES". There is such a thing as "healthy coffee". The next time you sit down to savor this beverage of contradictions, take the guess work out of it and make the switch to a truly healthy coffee.
Not only am I a distributor for SoZo's coffee, but I am a passionate consumer. It is also significant to note, that many of our distributors started out simply as consumers and are now being paid to do what they've been doing for years, for free.
